Teens Steroids Use and Hair loss

Anabolic Steroids is a troubling issue for teens today.  More and more medical abnormalities such as hair loss, liver and cardiovascular problems are shown in athletes that use anabolic steroids as diet supplementation. Early male pattern baldness relate to steroids. At the same time more body hair appears and more skin acne problem has been increasing with teens using steroids for bodybuilding for all kinds of sports. Studies show that teens using steroids have more mood swings, trouble controlling weight and body image issue than other teens.  Over 25% show oily skin and over 50% have acne and over 40% have increase in body hair and 20 % have scalp hair loss problem.

Anabolic Steroids issue, once noticed or suspected, should be tackled immediately.  It would be helpful if parent and coach would monitor the teen and offer advice to avoid the steroids use, have open ears to the teen, and show an alternative direction to the teen.
